Aphrodite

In March 2016,  while researching the historical depictions of women in the family library, I discovered a striking color plate of Aphrodite from New York Times critic,  John Canadays’ 1958 series of art study portfolios (published by the Metropolitan Museum of Art). The color plate was re-photographed utilizing digital and darkroom techniques; Camera Obscura (handcrafted pinhole camera), Cliche Verre (image making on glass), photo silkscreen, contact printing and negative printing. The project is ongoing.
